This is a painting exercise that addresses the interplay of material and light. This is a typical exercise for watercolor, acrylic paint, or inks in one color.  In this video, take inspiration from photographer Ansel Adams and examine the concept of saturation. You can use this technique to create atmospheric perspective by thinking about details that are closer and farther away. 

What you need:

• A standard pencil, graphite, or water-soluble paint
• paint brushes and paint tray (a plastic plate works well)
• Paper
• eraser and paper towel to clean brushes
